Before your new luxury vinyl
is installed
Getting ready for your new luxury vinyl installation is a breeze! Take these valuable steps to help ensure an efficient process and incredible results:
- Remove all furniture, electronics, items, and wall pieces from the room and closets.
- Since luxury vinyl flooring can often be installed over an existing floor, your current flooring may not need to be removed and disposed of!
- A floating luxury vinyl installation can also solve many subfloor imperfections and reduce the amount of subfloor prep.
- Once your subfloor is professionally assessed, you are cleared for installation.
- Bring the luxury vinyl flooring into the room to acclimate to the household humidity levels beforehand.
During Installation
On luxury vinyl installation day, an adult needs to be home to answer questions that arise for your installation crew. Designate a specific area for the crew to keep installation tools and saw pieces as needed. Keep all pets and kids away from the rooms receiving new luxury vinyl and worker’s area.
After Installation
Once your new luxury vinyl installation is complete, wait for the specified amount of time before walking on the new floor. Many floating floors are ready for light traffic right away! When returning furniture, always lift or use equipment with rollers, and use felt pads under the legs of heavy pieces.
