Before your new laminate
is installed
Getting ready for your new laminate installation is a breeze! Take these valuable steps to help ensure an efficient process and incredible results:
- Remove all furniture, electronics, items, and wall pieces from the room and closets.
- Since laminate flooring can often be installed over an existing floor, your current flooring may not need to be removed and disposed of!
- A floating laminate installation can also solve many subfloor imperfections and reduce the amount of subfloor prep.
- Once your subfloor is professionally assessed, you are cleared for installation.
- Bring the laminate flooring into the room to acclimate to the household humidity levels beforehand.

During Installation
On laminate installation day, an adult needs to be home to answer any questions that arise for your installation crew. Designate a specific area for the crew to keep installation tools and saw pieces as needed. Keep all pets and kids away from the rooms receiving new laminate and the worker’s area.

After Installation
Once your new laminate installation is complete, wait for the specified amount of time before walking on the new floor. Many floating floors are ready for light traffic right away! When returning furniture, always lift or use equipment with rollers, and use felt pads under the legs of heavy pieces.
